  • Because they're not the same thing. Every design starts as an original hand-illustration, not a stock print. They're woven in organic cotton waffle weave from a certified facility, not mass-produced polycotton. I hand-apply every belly band myself before it ships.

    You're paying for the making, not a markup.

  • The print is mine - designed, painted, and printed by me, not licensed or generated. The organic cotton waffle weave absorbs and dries better than the thin cotton most tea towels are made from, and holds up to years of proper use rather than months. Every one is checked by hand before it goes out.

  • Yes, certified, with a transaction certificate behind every batch - not just "natural" on a label with nothing behind it.

  • 50 × 67cm - a proper, generous size for actual kitchen use, not a decorative miniature.

  • I sample first, capture them properly, and only order a few at a time. I re-order if there is real demand for it. I also take pre-orders. Slower, but it means nothing gets made that isn't actually wanted.

  • Designed in the UK. Woven at a certified, responsible facility in China. Then I finish and quality-check every piece myself here in the UK before it's packed and posted.

  • I post via Royal Mail, usually within a couple of working days of your order. If it's ever running later than expected, just email hello@sophshouse.co.uk and I'll chase it up for you.

  • If something arrives faulty or not as expected, email hello@sophshouse.co.uk and I'll sort it properly.

  • Wash at 30°, low iron if necessary, tumble dry low. Organic cotton softens with use — they're meant to be lived with, not kept for best.
