I painted this botanical study one quiet summer afternoon after sitting for a while watching strawberry plants unfurl their serrated leaves and tiny white blossoms with my children. Using soft watercolour strokes, I built up layers of blush pink, deep ruby red, and mossy green to capture the berries at different stages of ripening.
